Yesterday morning, my dad woke me up. He said he had good news
to tell me. So I woke up, and it was only 6 o’clock. I ran as fast as I
could down stairs and into the den. I could hardly wait to open my
computer, because my dad e-mail me the good news.
Here is what it said:
Congratulations!
I wanted you all to be the first to know, since your
child/children/grandchild had participated in the 2008 Holiday Card
Contest. We are so thankful to each and every one of you that entered –
a record for us, we had 96 entries! - it was a pure pleasure to look
through the stack and see all the beautiful artwork.
We have selected one winner, and that is Victoria! Congratulations,
Victoria will receive $100 and a supply of cards to share with her family
and friends.
That was a letter from the contest I entered at my dad’s company. His
company had a Holiday Card Contest, a yearly contest when children
of employees under the age of 15 can submit entries based on their theme
for the years’ card. They select the winner(s) and put them on the cover
of the nationwide company holiday card, which each office sends to
customers and clients. This year’s theme is: What is your Holiday
Wish?
I was so glad that I won! Today was my best day ever.
